Senior Class Gift PSA (concept)
The central idea behind our PSA is to not only to get the word out about the Senior class gift, but also to entertain in such a way that it will cause the material to stick in one's head. In the brainstorming process, our group was trying to think of ways to improve upon or otherwise alter and beef up the message that we were trying to send. Ideally we wanted something that packed the punch of the Sarah McLachlan ASPCA ads (cept not as depressing):
but with it's own unique sense of humor. So we think we came up with something. We were thinking something along the lines of...To Catch a Predator...
With the aid of Joe and Alison in getting the names of some of the seniors who have yet to make a donation. We will ask them to come to a specific location with some sort of alluring premise (free food/drink, etc) and surprise them unawares with camera and interview them. Keeping their identities "obscured" we ask them if they've donated, why they have/not, what do they think the senior gift really means, and what they feel that the money could/should be used for.
Through this process we hope to get a clearer picture of the student perspective and get a couple laughs, while also raising awareness of the class gift and hopefully, boosting overall class participation as the end result.
